This is a shock. Kim Do-young (KIA) tried to win the Golden Glove unanimous award for the first time in KBO league history, but lost by eight votes. The vote share recorded 97.2 percent, failing to break Yang Eui-ji's 99.4 percent of the vote in 2020. If Kim Do-young doesn't either, who can aim for a unanimous vote.
Kim Do-young got his first career third baseman Golden Glove at the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Golden Glove Awards held at the COEX Auditorium in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 13th.
However, the unanimity failed. Out of a total of 288 votes, 280 votes went to Kim Do-young. The vote share was 97.2 percent. Song Seong-moon of the Kiwoom Heroes received four votes, Choi Jeong of the SSG Landers received three votes, and Roh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles received one vote.
It is hard to understand. In 141 games this year, Kim recorded 189 hits from 544 times at bat, 38 homers, 40 steals, 143 runs, 109 RBIs, and a batting average of 0.347 on-base plus slugging percentage of 0.420.
He became the best hitter in the KBO league by ranking first in the score, long-base percentage, OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage, 1.067) league, second in home runs, third in batting average, most hits and on-base percentage, sixth in stolen bases, and seventh in RBIs.
He has also broken the history of the KBO league. He has set various records including the youngest (20 years, 10 months and 13 days) – the smallest game (111 games) 30-30, the most points scored in a single season, the first monthly 10-10, the natural cycling hit for the first time at bat (20 years, 8 months and 25 days), the youngest (20 years, 8 months and 25 days) – the youngest (97 games) with 100 points, the youngest (20 years, 11 months and 6 days) with 100 points and 100 RBIs, and the most home runs under the age of 21.
On top of that, he led Kia to its 12th win. Kim played in all five games of the Korean Series, posting four hits, one homer, one stolen base, three runs scored, five RBIs and a batting average of 0.235 with an on-base percentage of 0.409 with a slugging percentage of 0.412.
With the team leading 3-1 in Game 1, he hit a timely hit, and made the winning RBI by team batting with runners on the second and third bases with no outs in the first inning of Game 2. With Game 3 trailing 1-4, he hit a timely hit, and Game 4 drew two walks to add one run. Game 5, which was confirmed to win, showed stellar performance with two hits, two walks, and one RBI from three times at bat. 온라인바카라
At the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier 12, Kim demonstrated that Korea is relatively small. Kim had seven hits, three homers, four runs scored, 10 RBIs and a batting average of 0.412 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of 1.503 in five games at bat. If it were not for Kim, Korea would not have been able to compete in the Super Round until the end.
